Bob has over 40 years of experience as a range management specialist with particular expertise in developing rangeland grazing strategies, including grazing strategies for riparian and wetland areas. As a private consultant he has provided technical assistance to private ranches and watershed groups for conservation planning, followup, and monitoring. He also recently co-authored the 2006 interagency Technical Reference - "Grazing Management Processes and Strategies for Riparian-Wetland Areas". In 2006 and 2007, Bob taught classes in Range & Pasture Monitoring as an adjunct professor at Montana State University.
Prior to consulting, Bob worked for over 30 years with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Montana providing technical assistance to ranchers, watershed groups, and other landowners, to help them develop and implement comprehensive land management plans. He has also developed ecological site descriptions for riparian and wetland areas in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.
